Sofra Bakery & Cafe

Sofra's authentic Turkish breakfast is nothing to sneer at, to be sure, but if you need some warm poached eggs in your life, the shakshuka is the stuff of kings. The eggs nestle into tomato-curry broth with zhoug and pita crumbs, and gluten-free guests can get the dish without the crumbs and the accompanying pita, if necessary.

There are plenty of luscious egg options at Inman Square's oldest deli. If you want a sandwich-esque dish, opt for the French Eggs, where the scrambled beauties are stuffed into a hot croissant along with Canadian bacon, home fries, and fresh fruit ($11.95). Alternatively, there is a classic salmon dish: the Novia Scotia lox and eggs come scrambled with onions, home fries, and a bagel and cream cheese ($12.95).
