Well, breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Pizza is the most important meal, period. Therefore, breakfast pizza is just plain essential.
1. Anthem Kitchen & Bar
Anthem's breakfast pizza keeps it simple with bacon, eggs, and house-made mozzarella. Served during breakfast Saturday (9 a.m. to 11 a.m.) and brunch Sunday (9 a.m. to 2 p.m.)
2. Area Four
Really, any pizza can be a breakfast pizza — just eat pizza in the morning. Area Four's standard line-up of excellent pizzas can be found on the weekend brunch menu (served Saturdays and Sundays from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.), but if a 10:30 a.m. carnivore or clam & bacon pizza isn't quite breakfast-y enough for you, you can add a couple eggs to any pizza.
3. Brasserie Jo
Brasserie Jo's tarte flambée, topped with egg, bacon, cheese, and tomato, is a close enough relative of pizza. It's available at breakfast (6:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. on weekdays and 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. on weekends) and brunch (11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekends).
4. Brewer's Fork
Sunday brunch, served from 10:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., includes four pizzas tailored to the first meal of the day, like the sausage (fennel sausage, pickled peppers, ricotta, tomato, mozzarella); Perkins II (Jersey-style with cheddar and spicy ketchup); and bacon & onion (roasted onions, leeks, creme fraiche, thyme, gruyere, slow-cooked egg). And there's the basic marge, with tomato, mozzarella, and basil.
5. City Table
During brunch (7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday), this Lenox Hotel restaurant offers a breakfast flatbread with breakfast sausage, tomato, eggs, spinach, and cheese.
There are five flatbreads available at brunch, from wild mushroom with eggs and fontina to crumbled chorizo with poblano goat cheese crema. Served 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.
7. Five Horses Tavern
The original location of Five Horses Tavern currently offers six pizzas at brunch, including kielbasa & potato (red onion, oregano, red sauce, and manchego cheese). The newer South End location has a couple — classic cheese & red sauce and butternut squash & mortadella. Brunch runs 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday in Somerville and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. both days in the South End.
8. Foundry On Elm
Foundry's Saturday brunch (11 a.m. to 3 p.m.) features the weekday menu, plus a few additions, including a bacon and egg pizza with parmesan, truffle oil, and chive. During the Sunday jazz brunch buffet (10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.), there's a breakfast flatbread with the same toppings.
This Alsatian pizza-like dish comes in classic form with lardons and onions at Josephine's brunch. There's also a short rib and gruyere version, as well as mushrooms and gruyere.

10. Mad Hatter Cafe
This Weymouth cafe, which serves breakfast all day, offers a 10-inch breakfast pizza with scrambled eggs, Irish sausage, ham, bacon, tomato, and cheese. (Or try the veggie version, which swaps in peppers, mushrooms, and onions for the meats.)
11. MET Back Bay
At weekend brunch, 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., try the house-cured salmon flatbread, which features chive and onion cream cheese, a sunny side up egg, and an everything crust.
Mistral's luxurious brunch menu includes a few 12-inch, thin-crust pizzas: tomato, mozzarella, and oregano; applewood smoked bacon, gruyere, and onion; and smoked salmon, creme fraiche whipped potatoes, and scallions. Brunch is served 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sundays.
13. Oath Craft Pizza
This Nantucket-based pizzeria has a kiosk at South Station and a location opening soon in Chestnut Hill, as well as a proposed one in Somerville's Davis Square. Opening at 7 a.m. on weekdays and 10 a.m. on weekends, the South Station location wants to feed you breakfast pizza while you're on the way to your train. There are three varieties: hen & hog (mozzarella, egg white, sausage, green and sweet red peppers, Sriracha drizzle); the Greenway (mozzarella, egg white, spinach, tomato, mushroom, balsamic drizzle); and French toast pizza (mozzarella, egg, ricotta, maple syrup, powdered sugar). Or make your own, starting with mozzarella and egg white, plus a choice of four toppings.
14. Olde Magoun's Saloon
Brunch is offered from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays, and the comfort food-filled menu includes the rising sun pizza, topped with fried eggs, jack cheese, caramelized onions, and smoked applewood bacon.

Osteria Nino's brunch stays open late (11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays), so calling these breakfast pizzas may be a stretch, but the brunch menu includes seven options suitable for any time of the day: margherita, marinara, bacon, and more.
During Pastoral's Sunday brunch, 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., the full regular pizza menu is available, plus a couple of special additions: prosciutto cotto pizza (olive oil, fontina, egg) and smoked pancetta Pizza (caramelized onion, egg). Egg can be added to any of the other pizzas too.

Try the sausage and egg flatbread, which includes sausage gravy, scrambled eggs, cheddar, fontina, parm, and scallions, at Saturday and Sunday brunch between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
18. S&S Restaurant
Brunch is nearly an all-day affair at this longtime Inman Square staple, running from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekends. The menu is large, and there's a breakfast pizza of sorts hidden amongst endless omelettes, quiche, and hash. Dubbed "Ma's brunch pizza," it consists of Nova Scotia salmon, onion, tomato, chive cream cheese, and monterey jack, served on a house-made cornmeal crust. Served with a side of fruit.
19. The Backroom at Moody's Delicatessen & Provisions
Keep an eye out for flatbreads on The Backroom's brunch menu. For example, they've served one with American cheese, thinly sliced pork roll, and spicy ketchup.
20. Trina's Starlite Lounge
Trina's epic brunch (12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Mondays — and now 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sundays too) is full of lots of fun things to eat and drink, so of course there's a breakfast pizza.
21. Worden Hall
This new addition to South Boston features comfort food like deep dish pies and spuckies. At brunch, you can get a deep dish (margherita or soppressata & garlic sausage), but there's also a breakfast-specific pizza, which currently features roasted potatoes, caramelized onions, Swiss, black pepper bacon, four baked eggs, and arugula.
