Last-Minute Takeout and Delivery Packages for Mother’s Day Around Boston

Mother’s Day is on Sunday, May 9, which is...very soon. For the procrastinators, here are some takeout packages that are still available as of press time, from breakfast in bed to a cannabis-infused dinner. (Still need a gift, too? Alcove (pickup in Boston’s West End neighborhood)
For pancakes with a side of caviar

Available for pickup between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on May 9, Alcove’s a la carte Mother’s Day options include caviar, oysters, charcuterie, a make-at-home pancake kit, lobster mac and cheese, a cookie basket, and more. There are also some gifts available, such as a bouquet and a chocolate bonbon sampler from local shop EHChocolatier. Order online.

Anoush’ella (pickup in Boston’s South End neighborhood)
For a mezze spread and more

Anoush’ella’s Mother’s Day menu for two ($100) includes an array of mezze (harissa spiced olives, stuffed grape leaves, and more), salad, grilled halibut, beef and eggplant kebabs, a spicy potato side, and rice pudding. Proceeds will go toward a nonprofit foundation established in the name of owner Raffi Festekjian’s late mother. Preorder online by 9 p.m. on May 7 for pickup by 2 p.m. on May 9.

Bambara (pickup in Cambridge; delivery nearby)
For a breakfast in bed kit

Bambara’s breakfast in bed kit feeds two ($50) with French toast and accoutrements, cans of La Colombe coffee, and mimosas. Kid-friendly portions can be added for $10 each.

Blue Ribbon Barbecue (pickup in Newton, Arlington, or Dedham; delivery in and around Boston)
For breakfast in bed, complete with bloody marys (and dinner options, too)

Local barbecue mini-chain Blue Ribbon has several catering packages geared toward the holiday, including breakfast in bed for $40 (serves four) that includes a quiche with smoked ham, arugula, and jack cheese; fruit salad; and bloody mary mix. There are several dinner packages as well; view the options online. All serve four and arrive prepared and cold, with simple reheating instructions. Call (617) 244-7427 to order by noon on May 6; pickup is available on May 8 at the Newton Highlands commissary or Arlington or Dedham restaurants. Delivery is also available to Boston and surrounding towns for $10.

Cafe Beatrice (pickup in Cambridge; delivery nearby)
For the ultimate pastry sampler

Skip right to dessert with this pastry six-pack, which includes a cinnamon roll, maple kouign amann, lemon ginger muffin, rose crème brûlée puff, almond crunch bun, and blood orange and ginger brioche. Order online ($28) for pickup or delivery between 8 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. on May 9.

Dinner at Mary’s (delivery around Greater Boston)
For a three-course dinner, optionally cannabis-infused

This three-course meal kit of beet salad, lobster ravioli, and lemon poppyseed cake arrives with instructions and an optional free gift of cannabis-infused oil. Order by May 5 (that’s today, if you’re reading this on Wednesday) for $79; it feeds two. Available for delivery around the Greater Boston area between noon and 4 p.m. on Friday, May 7.

Flour Bakery (pickup at Flour locations around Cambridge and Boston)
For triple chocolate mousse cake and such

Flour is offering a Mother’s Day menu for pickup at its various locations around town on May 7 through 9, with ordering deadlines at 4 p.m. on May 5 through 7 respectively. Cupcakes, cakes, and other sweets are available, as well as two savory quiches, bouquets, and a gift box that includes granola, cookies, toffee, tea, and more. Order online.

Harvest (pickup in Cambridge’s Harvard Square neighborhood)
For a luxurious brunch package

Harvest’s Mother’s Day brunch package ($75, serves two) includes a bagel platter with smoked salmon and accoutrements; quiche; lobster and pea pasta salad; and more. Boozy add-ons (mimosas, spicy bloody marys, and a bottle of rosé) are available, too. Call (617) 868-2255 to order by May 6 for pickup on May 8 at 10 a.m. or 3:30 p.m. or on May 9 at 10 a.m.

Juliet (pickup in Somerville; delivery in the Boston/Cambridge/Somerville area)
For food, drinks, flowers, and/or special gift bundles

Juliet is offering a variety of Mother’s Day options, including a heat-and-eat dinner ($52 per person) with asparagus panzanella, salmon cakes, lemon poppyseed cake, and more. There’s a vegetarian option as well. There are also a la carte food options (frittatas, take-and-bake cinnamon rolls, more), wine and cocktails, bouquets from Rococo Floral Co., and gifts such as spice sets and soap sets. Order online by 8 p.m. on May 6.

Mei Mei (pickup in Boston’s Fenway neighborhood; delivery nearby)
For so many things wrapped in dough

The “Filled With Love bundle” is a six-pack of local stuffed foods: Mei Mei dumplings, Buenas empanadas, Jaju pierogi, Global Village Food samosas, Sherpa Foods momos, and Doris’ Peruvian Pastries alfajores, packed in an insulated Mei Mei tote bag ($95). Order online while supplies last.

Shanti (pickup in Boston’s Roslindale or Dorchester neighborhoods; delivery near those areas)
For a four-course Indian feast

Shanti is offering a takeout and delivery Mother’s Day package on May 8 and 9 (must be ordered 24 hours in advance: Roslindale, Dorchester). The four-course meal includes dhai vada, either choley bhature or ragada patties, one of four entree choices, and dhai gulab jamun for dessert. Note: Shanti Cambridge is temporarily closed.

Talulla (pickup in Cambridge)
For sticky buns (and more, but you’re definitely going to want a sticky bun)

Choose brunch or dinner. Brunch for two ($50, with optional beverage add-ons) includes a sticky bun, yogurt with granola and preserves, quiche, and smoked salmon with accompaniments. Dinner ($65 per person) includes three courses, with options such as hamachi crudo, roasted chicken, and lavender panna cotta. Order online.

Urban Hearth (pickup in Cambridge)
For a giant brunch spread

Available for two ($80) or four ($120), Urban Hearth’s Mother’s Day brunch spread is available for pickup on May 8, packed ready for reheating (with instructions). It includes shakshuka, blintzes, potatoes, fruit salad with granola, bake-and-serve cinnamon buns, and an elderflower peach bellini cocktail kit. Order online.
