A new restaurant called Lucie Drink and Dine (stylized as LUCIE Drink + Dine) is set to fill the space that has been vacant at the Colonnade Hotel since longtime French restaurant Brasserie Jo closed last fall (120 Huntington Ave., Back Bay, Boston). Lucie will open this fall, per a press release.

While the team isn’t sharing specific menu details yet, Lucie is meant to be a “neighborhood restaurant and bar featuring a modern global menu,” according to the release, offering cocktails (including some classics), wine, and beer. The kitchen will be under the stewardship of Michael Chandler, who’s worked in the kitchens of Boston fine-dining stalwarts Oak Long Bar and Kitchen and Grill 23, as well as several Jean-Georges Vongerichten restaurants in New York.

The “heart of [Lucie’s] energy” will be its bar and a “semi-enclosed lounge area,” per the press release, which also notes that the restaurant will have a “warm interior” with “soft fabrics” and “lush upholstery,” a distinct contrast to the hotel’s hard, Brutalist exterior.

Howard Wein of Howard Wein Hospitality — who works with celebrity chef and restaurateur Geoffrey Zakarian, among others — is behind Lucie. His hospitality group has worked with a number of restaurant and hotel partners over the years to design, open, and operate restaurants, and the group also owns and operates the Alvah Stone in Montague, Massachusetts.

Given its hotel location, Lucie will have long hours, serving breakfast, lunch, dinner, weekend brunch, and a late-night menu. Stay tuned for more details on the forthcoming opening in the space that Brasserie Jo occupied for 20 years.
