A former Fenway restaurant has reemerged in Boston’s South End with a revamped menu and more space. Casual Italian restaurant Black Jack Pasta Kitchen is now open in the building that previously housed the historic Morse Fish Company seafood market and cafe (1401 Washington St.).
The new restaurant builds on its prior success as Black Jack Pasta Bar (which closed in August 2018) with a menu of hot and cold sandwiches, pastas, and appetizers.
The space in the South End is larger than the Fenway restaurant, and it accommodates Black Jack’s vast menu, which features 21 varieties of sauce for its pasta dishes. Menu items include stuffed ravioli, spaghetti, and seafood pastas, plus sandwiches, baked meatballs and sausages, chicken and eggplant parmesan, salads, chicken wings, and fried ravioli appetizers.
Black Jack Pasta Kitchen opened Monday, July 1, and its menu indicates it will operate from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. seven days a week. In addition to offering some dine-in space, the restaurant also does takeout and catering.
