A vegan restaurant known for its massive sandwiches has closed, and a bubble tea shop has taken over in its stead. Cuong’s Vegan shuttered a few weeks ago, and Pin Ming opened in its stead on June 18.

Cuong’s Vegan had operated on Beach Street since early 2016. The business was run by Cuong Tran of My Thai Vegan Cafe and served an assortment of curry sandwiches made with deep fried tofu and accompanied by papaya and mango salads, spring rolls, soups, and desserts.

Now, Pin Ming is in business at 5 Beach St., serving a variety of teas, including flavors like watermelon slush with lychee jelly, orange, cheese strawberry tea, black grape, and a cheese avocado tea. There are also rainbow jellies and assorted citrus beverages.

The cafe operates Sunday through Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
