A popular ice cream shop with four locations in New York City (and a fifth coming soon) will bring its famous ice cream and alcoholic floats to Boston. OddFellows Ice Cream Co. will open at the Street Chestnut Hill this summer, the growing chain announced today, joining the ranks of the shopping center’s many food and beverage purveyors.

Run by founders Mohan and Holiday Kumar along with James Beard nominee Sam Mason (previously of Wylie Dufresne’s WD~50), OddFellows has made a name for itself serving over 400 creative flavors of ice cream, sorbet, and dairy-free dessert offerings.

OddFellows’ Chestnut Hill shop will be located under Legal Sea Foods in the Street complex, and it will serve a rotating selection of flavors for ice cream and sorbet. There will also be plenty of options for milkshakes, sodas, banana splits, sundaes, and other treats.

Look out for unconventional flavors like chorizo caramel swirl and black pepper fig, as well as matcha rocky road, burnt marshmallow, and cookies and cream. OddFellows will bring its “happy hour” menu to Boston as well, serving local beers and a wine list that emphasizes natural and organic wines. Also in that category: boozy ice cream treats made with both beer and wine, like lambrusco floats and stout floats with coffee crunch ice cream.

The design of OddFellows in Chestnut Hill is meant to hark back to the days of 1950s ice cream parlors, with red banquette seating and bar seating. There will also be custom wall art from New York-based illustrator Cerise Zelenetz, plus an outdoor patio.

Look out for OddFellows opening this summer at the Street in Chestnut Hill, where it joins the likes of Comella’s, Tender Greens, Chilacates, and the newly revamped Chef Ronsky’s Trattoria, which now serves Italian dishes for lunch and dinner, as well as an aperitivo hour.
