A seafood-filled chain restaurant with nearly 300 seats opens Friday, May 10, in Boston’s Prudential Center, expanding upon the shopping mall’s already-robust options for seafood, steak, and wine. Eddie V’s will debut in the former P.F. Chang’s space (122 Belvidere St.), bringing a host of local seafood and more than 400 wines to Back Bay.
Eddie V’s operates more than 20 locations in Texas, California, Arizona, Pennsylvania, and elsewhere. This is the first Massachusetts location; a second will open this summer in Burlington (that opening is currently slated for July 19.)
The Prudential restaurant spans close to 10,000 square feet, with a main dining room and three private event spaces. Eddie V’s menu is loaded with seafood, including raw bar items, caviar, seafood towers, lobster tacos, and more. Beyond seafood, there are also a variety of steak options. Eddie V’s vast wine selection includes more than 400 labels, with champagne selections for pairing with oysters.
Eddie V’s isn’t alone in these types of offerings at the Pru: Another chain, Del Frisco’s, opened at the mall last summer. While Eddie V’s gives seafood top billing and Del Frisco’s highlights steak, they both cover both options, and like Eddie V’s, Del Frisco’s features an enormous wine selection. Also at the mall, Eataly recently increased its seafood options with a new sit-down restaurant called La Pescheria.
Eddie V’s doubles as a jazz lounge and will host various acts each night in the so-called V Lounge, which also serves cocktails. The restaurant will operate from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and until 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
