Celebrity chef, custodian of Flavortown, and bleached hair maven Guy Fieri will at long last have a restaurant of his very own in Boston. Teaming up with Boston’s Big Night Entertainment Group (BNEG), the vibrant culinary personality will open Guy Fieri’s Tequila Cocina in the Hub on Causeway, a new development chock full of retail, office, hotel, and residential space adjoining TD Garden.

The restaurant fits into a subset of the larger development from BNEG called Big Night Live, which will include a music hall and nightlife venues. Guy Fieri’s Tequila Cocina will occupy about 6,000 square feet of space within the overall 40,000-square-foot development, with 185 seats, a menu of Latin American-style dishes, and more than 100 varieties of tequila. Previous plans for Big Night Live included a Mexican and Latin restaurant called Poco Diablo; Guy Fieri’s Tequila Cocina will open in its stead.

This is a new restaurant brand in Fieri’s vast empire, which consists of 70 restaurants worldwide with focuses ranging from barbecue to chicken and burgers. The collection includes Guy’s Foxwoods Kitchen + Bar in Connecticut, which is also a BNEG collaboration.

The Tequila Cocina will join Guy Fieri’s El Burro Borracho in exploring cuisines of Central and Latin America. Fieri and BNEG will work with designer Peter Niemitz for the restaurant’s decor, and when it opens, Tequila Cocina will operate for lunch and dinner seven days a week.

Fieri has visited Boston numerous times for his show Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives, stopping at establishments like Cutty’s in Brookline and Rino’s in East Boston.

Look for Guy Fieri’s Tequila Cocina to open in the Hub on Causeway sometime this fall. The TD Garden development will also eventually house a food hall that’s set to open in 2019 and will add to the growing trend of similar establishments across Boston.
