The owners of Savin Bar and Kitchen (116 Savin Hill Ave., Dorchester, Boston) are opening a taqueria and tequila bar. Ghost Pepper Taqueria will occupy a space adjacent to Savin Bar and Kitchen, a neighborhood staple that is almost a decade old.
The team plans to open with limited hours sometime this summer, followed by a grand opening in September, Ghost Pepper owner Driscoll DoCanto told Eater via email.
“We want to bring a Mexican kitchen and tequila bar to the Savin Hill neighborhood,” DoCanto said, noting that it will be “like nothing else in the area.” (Another Dorchester taqueria and tequila bar, Yellow Door Taqueria, might as well be in another city; it’s three miles away in the Lower Mills section of town, a 15-minute drive if you’re lucky.)
The Ghost Pepper space will be vast — there will be seating for 100 diners in a space with 15-foot ceilings — and will feature a U-shaped bar. “The space overall will be bright, with pops of color, elements of natural wood, and concrete,” said DoCanto.
Keep an eye out for tequila and tacos on Savin Hill this summer.
