A New York City-based restaurant serving burgers with rice buns and ramen buns has moved into Boston’s Allston neighborhood. Moon & Flower House, which specializes in Chinese and barbecue dishes, is now open at 110 Brighton Ave., in the former Nextdoor Cafe space.

The restaurant’s burger comes on buns made of either ramen or rice that is compressed into a solid disc. Diners can also order burgers on a more standard bread bun, and further menu options include fried chicken and fish sandwiches, chicken nuggets and wings, fruit beverages, tea, juice, and desserts. Moon & Flower House serves lunch and dinner, reportedly operating between 11 a.m. and 12 a.m.

Meanwhile, in Wellesley, local food truck Riceburg just opened a permanent storefront at 552 Washington St. The food truck has operated since 2015, and over the years it has perfected its own version of a rice burger, with fillings of chicken katsu, bulgogi steak, soy marinated chicken, and vegan and vegetarian options like soy patties and shiitake mushrooms. Riceburg also serves rice bowls and salads with the same protein options, plus shoestring french fries and frozen yogurt.

The Wellesley restaurant operates Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday from 12 to 8 p.m.
