A skating rink in South Boston is about to have one of the best concession stands in the city. Down at the Rink will reportedly open for the season on May 20, adjacent to DCR Murphy Memorial Rink (1880 William J. Day Blvd., at East Broadway, in South Boston), and it will now serve wagyu hot dogs, bratwurst, Italian sausages, chicken nuggets, and pizza, with prices maxing out at $8. To drink, there will be iced coffee, lemonade, soda, and slushies.
Chef Damian Zedower (L’Espalier, Mandarin Oriental) will be at the helm of the kitchen, and Sean Sullivan, an alum of Legal Sea Foods and Papa Razzi, co-owns the stand with him.
The concession stand, which will be open daily, isn’t the only dining option for hungry skaters and hockey players, though — Castle Island mainstay Sullivan’s is just a 10-minute walk away. The area includes plenty of free parking and water views.
Update, May 15, 2019: Additional details about the menu, location, and ownership have been added to this story.
Update, May 24, 2019: This story has been updated to clarify that Zedower and Sullivan co-own the stand together.
