A Somerville cafe opened a counterpart in Boston’s Downtown Crossing this week. Nine Bar Espresso debuted its second location at 45 Bromfield St. on Monday, April 22, and it will carry on the Davis Square shop’s ways, serving coffee from local roaster Gracenote and pastries from Salem’s popular A&J King bakery. It also serves Camellia Sinensis teas.
Nine Bar manager Erick Vlassidis has moved over to run the downtown location — he was part of the opening team when Nine Bar first debuted at 11 Holland St. in August 2015 — and Edward Green will manage the Somerville cafe. Both Nine Bars are sibling cafes to Porter Square’s Simon’s Coffee Shop (1736 Massachusetts Ave.).
The new Nine Bar is open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
