Upscale steakhouse chain Ruth’s Chris is planning its third Massachusetts location, this time at Assembly Row in Somerville. Ruth’s Chris expanded to Waltham in 2017 and has another location in Boston’s old City Hall on School Street.
The Somerville iteration will be housed on the ground floor of the Partners Healthcare headquarters, according to a representative from Assembly Row. The space will be large — 8,100 square feet — and accommodate 240 diners. Ruth’s Chris Assembly Row will also feature a seasonal patio equipped with seating for an additional 50 diners.
The steakhouse chain serves filets, ribeyes, t-bones, New York strips, and more, along with a selection of seafood options such as lobster tail and Chilean sea bass. And like any good steakhouse, Ruth’s Chris has a mean side dish game, including lobster mac and cheese, creamed spinach, and sweet potato casserole.
Ruth’s Chris has not yet announced an opening date for the new location. When it debuts, it’ll join a few other meaty options at Assembly Row, including the third location of local barbecue restaurant group Smoke Shop, not to mention an outpost of Australian-ish mega-chain Outback Steakhouse.
