Boston’s Tatte Bakery & Cafe locations now number 12. The local bakery unveiled its newest space at One Boston Place (201 Washington St., Downtown Boston) at 7 a.m. on Monday, March 25, offering its regular lineup of pastries, breakfast, lunch, beverages, and more. Tatte now has two locations in downtown Boston, the first of which opened at 125 Summer St. in January of this year.
Tatte’s patented white tile decor graces the second Boston location, and there are high ceilings, communal tables, and a coffee bar, plus pastry counters and glass display cases.
Founder Tzurit Or posted videos of the new location on the company’s Instagram story, where she has shared news about each new addition to the Tatte family. Since its founding in 2007, Tatte has experienced several growth spurts; the opening of its two-level Harvard Square bakery in October 2016 kicked off the most recent few years of major growth.
In the last two and a half years, Tatte has added six more locations in Boston proper, with the One Boston Place bakery bringing the company’s total to 12. Or has further expansions planned: Tatte will open on the campus of Berklee College of Music, and Or plans to expand to Washington, D.C., as well. Or has an ongoing partnership with Ron Shaich, who was a co-founder of Panera but parted ways with the company in January 2018. (Shaich has also been busy helping to expand another local chain, Life Alive.)
The new Tatte location is open daily: 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. weekdays, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturdays, and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sundays.
Update, 3/25, 2:30 p.m.: This story has been updated to reflect that the new Tatte is serving a full menu.
