El Centro owner Allan Rodriguez is opening another Mexican restaurant in Boston, this time on Newbury Street. Rodriguez’s latest spot will be a taqueria called La Neta (255 Newbury St., Back Bay, Boston), and it will open sometime in late spring or early summer 2019.

La Neta will be a fast-casual restaurant and will feature tacos, burritos, enchiladas, tortas, soups, and salads, Rodriguez told Eater. And the star of the show is going to be tacos al pastor, which will be served on freshly made tortillas made from a recipe passed down to Rodriguez from his family in Hermosillo, Mexico.

Rodriguez has a good track record of opening successful Mexican restaurants in Boston: El Centro has expanded from its original location in the South End to include three others in Brookline, Dedham, and Belmont, and he also founded La Catrina in Brighton (which is now under new ownership).

Keep an eye out for La Neta a little bit later this year, and in the meantime, check out the neighborhood’s other taco options, including Cambridge restaurant Naco Taco’s Newbury Street food truck (354 Newbury St.) and the nearly 50-year-old Casa Romero (30 Gloucester St.), which has ample taco options at lunchtime.

Update, 1 p.m.: This post has been updated to reflect that Rodriguez no longer owns La Catrina in Brighton.

Update, March 27, 2019: This post originally stated that La Neta would be opening at 221 Newbury St. in Back Bay. The correct address is 255 Newbury St.
