Bourbon Coffee, a Cambridge cafe with roots in Rwanda, is now open at a second location in the area, where it took over for Boston Common Coffee Co. at 103 Canal Street in Boston’s West End, near North Station.
Bourbon Coffee sources direct trade coffee beans from Rwanda and has operated in Cambridge since 2011. The cafe has additional locations in Washington, DC. In Cambridge, the menu consists of a variety of coffee-based beverages, seasonal lattes, and teas, as well as pastries and sandwiches.
With the closure of its Canal Street cafe, Boston Common Coffee Company retains one location in the Boston area, on High Street in the Financial District. It previously operated four area cafes, but its North End and Downtown Crossing locations have both closed in recent years.
Update, 3/5, 8:00 a.m.: This story has been updated to reflect that the new location of Bourbon Coffee is now open.
