A Beverly Burger Restaurant Finally Expands to Boston

A Beverly burger restaurant will complete its anticipated expansion to Boston proper this week. A&B Burgers (101 Beverly St.) opens Thursday, February 21 at 11:30 a.m. within a new development near TD Garden. Word of this expansion first came last January, and with the location announced last April, owner Thomas Holland has spent the last nine months working on building out the space and staffing his team.

A&B Burgers has made a name for itself in Beverly, thrice earning the “best of the North Shore” title for its burgers. With its second location in Boston, the restaurant will deliver a similar menu of burgers, entrees, appetizers, and sides, plus beer, cocktails, and (like any true burger restaurant) milkshakes.

The new A&B Burgers has access on Causeway Street and spans 4,000 square feet of space, with a long bar and both booth and table seating. Like its Beverly location, the Boston restaurant has garage door windows, which will open in seasonal months.

Amanda Howell (previously of Russell House Tavern, Naco Taco, and Alden & Harlow) will serve as the executive chef of A&B Burgers in Boston, with Jacob Carter (Barcelona Restaurant and Wine Bar, Stephanie’s Restaurant Group) as general manager, and Eric Buxton and Matt DiBiccari from the Beverly restaurant as director of operations and culinary director, respectively.

A&B Burgers originally opened in Salem inside a historic jail before relocating to Beverly. Holland briefly considered expanding to Amesbury in 2016, but ultimately landed on a Boston expansion. A&B joins a handful of new dining establishments in the West End neighborhood, including Alcove from Tom Schlesinger-Guidelli, Bodega Canal, and a forthcoming Night Shift expansion project, among others.
