Starting this weekend, Mike and Patty’s (12 Church St, Boston, MA 02116) — Bay Village’s favorite little sandwich shop — will begin operating out of the Hot Box (1 Bow Market Way, Somerville, MA 02143) space on Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., according to a press release from the restaurants.
Mike and Patty’s and Hot Box are operated by the same folks, so the marriage makes perfect and easy sense.
The full Mike and Patty’s menu won’t be available (sigh), but classics such as their Breakfast Grilled Crack (fried egg, bacon, cheddar, Swiss, and gruyere on buttered sourdough) will be.
Hot Box opens at noon on the weekends, so there will be a sweet spot of one hour when diners will be able to get a breakfast sandwich from Mike and Patty’s, or a North Shore-style roast beef sandwich and New England bar-style pizza from Hot Box.
