One of food television’s most vibrant and spiky-haired personalities is about to open a restaurant of his own in Boston. Flavortown’s directory will include Boston as of October 31, as sunglasses-bedecked chef Guy Fieri debuts Guy Fieri’s Tequila Cocina in concert with Boston’s Big Night Entertainment Group (BNEG) at the Hub on Causeway, a new development adjoining TD Garden that will soon be overflowing with retail and restaurants (including a food hall), plus office, hotel, and residential space.

Fieri’s Latin American-inspired restaurant will take up 6,000 square feet within BNEG’s Big Night Live venue at 110 Causeway St., with 185 seats and a large bar. Here’s a peek at some of the dishes, and the full food and drink menu is embedded below.

While Fieri has popped into town many times over the years to stake out popular spots for his show Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives (he’s visited Cutty’s, Rino’s, Italian Express, Angela’s Cafe, and most recently Bagelsaurus), this is his first restaurant in Boston, and the first of its name in his empire, though Fieri has dabbled in Latin American-style dishes at some of his other restaurants, including two restaurants in Las Vegas and Laughlin, Nevada.

The restaurant joins a far-reaching list of food and beverage vendors within the new Hub on Causeway development at TD Garden. Another restaurant in the complex, Banners Kitchen & Tap, opened last week with a hefty draft list, Topgolf Swing Suites, and a massive television screen primed for sports events. The complex will also be home to the aforementioned food hall, Hub Hall, comprised of 18 local and regional vendors. (For more on that, see here; it’s slated to open this winter, after much of the rest of the development.) And yesterday, the team behind acclaimed New York City cocktail bar Death & Co shared the news that they would be consulting on a cocktail bar called Sound Advice, opening next month at the Hub on Causeway.

When Guy Fieri’s Tequila Cocina opens on Halloween, so do concert venue Big Night Live and event space Studio B, all together under the Big Night Entertainment Group umbrella at the Hub on Causeway. BNEG’s corporate executive chef Kevin Scott has hired chef Rachel Klein (Liquid Art House, Om, Mandarin Oriental) to oversee Guy Fieri’s Tequila Cocina, Big Night Live, and Studio B.

Guy Fieri’s Tequila Cocina will be open daily: 4 p.m. to midnight Sunday through Thursday and 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. Friday and Saturday.

Update, October 28, 2019: Guy Fieri’s Tequila Cocina now has an opening date: Halloween. The piece has been updated accordingly, and new information about the executive chef and the restaurant’s hours have also been added.
