A longtime neighborhood spot that has been feeding East Bostonians pizza and sandwiches for years will end its run this week. Dough (20 Maverick St., Boston) plans to close Friday, January 18, after 13 years in business, according to various posts on the restaurant’s social media channels.

Known for its pizza and massive sandwiches and burgers, Dough also serves pasta, calzones, salads, sides, and soup. The restaurant also offers daily specials, including pizza slices and sandwiches like the “Phishwich” with fried tilapia.

“In the past 13 years we have had a lot fun, made very good friends, and served a lot of good food,” the restaurant’s farewell message read. “We would like to thank you, the customers, for coming in excited every day to try our food. That energy has driven us for 13 years. We truly appreciate the love that you’ve given us throughout the years, which makes this decision so tough.”

The owners also thanked their employees and invited customers to come bid farewell this week.
