Start perfecting your Demogorgon costume. Precinct Kitchen & Bar (Loews Boston Hotel, 154 Berkeley St., Back Bay, Boston) likes to have fun with its sizable patio, an oasis sunken below street level. Winter came to the patio last year in the form of a Game of Thrones-themed pop-up, and now Precinct wants to take diners to the fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana — and the (fictional?) Upside Down — with a Stranger Things theme this Halloween season.
The patio as well as the interior restaurant space will be transformed into Hawkins, including a version of the Upside Down that is more “fun and tasty” than “frightful,” per a rep. There will be arcade games, likely including Ms. Pac-Man and Space Invaders, and plenty of specials. Think “Justice for Barb” cocktails (with a take-home mug), Snack Pack desserts, and (obviously) Eggo waffles.
Costumes are encouraged, and there’s no cover. Food and beverages are available for purchase a la carte, and diners can order from both the regular Precinct menu and the themed specials.
The Precinct’s transformation begins at 4 p.m. on Friday, October 26, and continues nightly until November 16. Keep an eye on the Precinct’s Instagram account and the hashtag #PrecinctPopUp for updates.
In other holiday pop-up news, the Christmas-themed Miracle Bar is slated to return to town this year, operating at the Kimpton Hotel Marlowe Lobby Bar in Cambridge, Mystic Station in Malden, and the Citizen in Worcester. More details to follow, but it’ll stretch from the day after Thanksgiving through the end of the year.
