The world’s trendiest raw fish dishes are on their way to Boston, bundled into one restaurant that got its start as a food stall in an Atlanta “food hallway.” Poke Burri has it all — poke bowls, sushi burritos, sushi doughnuts, sushi pizza, and secret sushi corn dogs — and plans to bring this full lineup to the Boston area.
The forthcoming Boston restaurant appears to be part of a franchising initiative from Poke Burri founder, Seven Chang. There is another Poke Burri location in Raleigh, North Carolina.
The restaurant’s menu includes a selection of pre-set poke bowls and sushi burritos, along with customizable options for each, plus a few appetizers, like fried pork dumplings and spicy tuna nachos. The poke bowls and sushi burritos have optional proteins ranging from tuna and salmon to crab salad and shrimp tempura, plus vegetables, toppings, and plenty of sauces
The sushi doughnuts appear on the restaurant’s regular menu in large (for $11) or regular ($5.50) sizes, and they consist of rice formed into a circular shape topped with salmon, tuna, or crab salad and sauce. But the options don’t end there: Poke Burri also has some off-menu items that will likely invade your Instagram stream soon if they haven’t already. Its sushi pizza features a filled roll “crust” and a triangular bed of rice, while the sushi corn dog consists of deep fried rice and crab salad with three sauces.
Eater has reached out for more details on the forthcoming Boston location, including an address and opening timeline. This story will be updated as new information becomes available.
