Petsi Pies closed down one of its three locations over the weekend, shuttering the East Cambridge cafe at 594 Cambridge St. on Sunday, August 26. It had opened in 2015, replacing a short-lived location at 441 Cambridge St.
In a Facebook post, the business referred customers to its remaining two locations in Somerville (285 Beacon St., near Porter Square) and Cambridge (31 Putnam Ave., near Harvard Square).
“Thanks to all our loyal customers in the East Cambridge neighborhood — we will miss you!” the post read.
Founder Renee “Petsi” McLeod — who is also behind Southern restaurant Tupelo in Cambridge’s Inman Square — launched Petsi Pies in 2003, and as the name suggests, pies are the main focus of the business. The bakeries serve pies with sweet and savory fillings, plus seasonal options like heirloom tomato with gruyere, mustard, and herbs de Provence for summer.
Pastries run the gamut from scones and muffins to cookies, brownies, and cinnamon rolls, and the cafes also serve a range of coffee beverages. Plus, the remaining Cambridge location serves soups and sandwiches.
