Back Bay bar and restaurant Beacon Street Locale (495 Beacon St., Boston) has closed. A tipster recently spotted a “no trespassing” sign on the front door; it was still posted as of July 6, Eater confirmed. The property manager of the space confirmed to Eater that the restaurant is closed, citing “an operator issue.”

The venue, which opened in April 2017 in the old Crossroads Irish Pub space, was operated by restaurateurs George Vinal and Angelo Stamos. It was open late by Boston standards (2 a.m.) and served food like burgers, steak tips, and flatbreads till nearly closing time (1:45 a.m.).
Back Bay has seen a number of restaurant closures in recent months, including Doretta Taverna, Roost Bistro, Chilli Duck, and Tapeo, with the latter two explicitly blaming increasing rents. Smith & Wollensky will also close its Back Bay location later this summer.
Eater has reached out to the Beacon Street Locale team and the building’s landlord and will update this story if more information becomes available.
