A longtime food and wine shop in Cambridge’s Harvard Square just expanded to a Boston neighborhood that’s in the midst of massive growth. Cardullo’s Gourmet Shoppe debuted at 99 Seaport Blvd. this week, offering a hefty selection of retail food and beverage items and featuring a deli counter serving up plenty of breakfast and lunch sandwiches.
Cardullo’s first opened in Harvard Square (5 Brattle St.) in 1950, and over nearly seven decades, it has sold everything from wine and beer to cheese, chocolate, tea, and assorted other retail goods. The shop’s deli counter has always been a popular lunch option in the neighborhood.
Now open in Seaport, the new Cardullo’s serves coffee and breakfast sandwiches in the morning, while the afternoon menu includes charcuterie, cheese, soups, salads, and the shop’s signature sandwiches. Options range from a classic meatball sandwich served on a baguette with provolone cheese to the Cuban sandwich with pickles and mustard, and there are new options, including a chicken pesto sandwich, that will appear at the original location as well.
On the retail side, customers will find olive oil, salts, pasta, sauce, jams, chocolate, wine, beer, and more, and unlike the Cambridge location, Cardullo’s Seaport has some small-batch spirits for sale as well.
Cardullo’s also offers catering and wine and beer delivery, and the Seaport location will eventually hold wine, cheese, and chocolate tasting events.
Swing by the new shop between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m. on weekdays, 10 a.m. and 9 p.m. on Saturdays, and 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Sundays.
