A new juice shop opened in Jamaica Plain last week, and it’ll be hard to miss for passersby: The mint green exterior beckons health food and juice lovers alike, and those who go inside will find an airy interior filled with hanging plants splashed in sun from the skylight above. Juicygreens (61 South St.) founders Ammy and Mike Lowney turned the former Harvest Co-op space into a cafe, which they unveiled to the public last week under limited hours, according to Jamaica Plain News.
Ammy Lowney, a former Boston Public Schools teacher, and her husband Mike, a primary care physician in Hyde Park, built the menu for Juicygreens around cold-pressed juices while emphasizing quick, healthy items. They renovated the Harvest space to include an ordering counter, retail shelves, dining space, and a patio out front.
In addition to the juices, other menu items include smoothies and bowls, toasts, and salads, among other items. The Lowneys have shared some details on menu items on the establishment’s Facebook page.

Additionally, Juicygreens will soon get a friend in the health food/juice department: Another new shop called Carrot Flower is just a few months out from opening, according to a recent post on Facebook. Founders Audrey White and Cheri Clarkin aim to bring “healthy, low-carb quick dining options” to the area, including smoothies, juices, salads, soups, oat bowls, coffee, and more.
