Tasty Thai arrives in Roslindale on Friday, March 9, replacing Seven Star Street Bistro at 153 Belgrade Ave., per Boston Restaurant Talk. The new restaurant quickly transitioned the space to update the furniture and design elements inside, and now the owners are ready to introduce the neighborhood to a menu of “authentic, different, and interesting” Thai dishes.

After Seven Star Street Bistro closed down last June, the Belgrade Avenue space was put to use as a host for Simcha, an occasional pop-up from Avi Shemtov of the Chubby Chickpea food truck, featuring contemporary Israeli dishes. In January, Seven Star announced the space would once again transition, with Tasty Thai taking over permanently.

The restaurant’s internet presence is currently limited to a Facebook page, where it announced Friday’s opening, and a mostly bare Instagram page, but details of the menu are not yet available. A call to the restaurant Friday morning went unanswered; this story will be updated when more information becomes available. In the meantime, here’s a peek inside the attractive space.

There aren’t many other dining options in the immediate vicinity, just Rustica Pizza across the street. About a half mile up the street, however, the heart of Roslindale Village has lots more to offer, including Sophia’s Grotto, Shanti, Delfino, Redd’s in Rozzie, and more. Hint: You can bring your own food into the seasonal Trillium Garden at the Substation. Pair some Thai takeout with Trillium’s Double Dry Hopped Melcher Street IPA, perhaps.
