Greater Boston’s enduring juice wave continues to prove its strength, this time in Cambridge. Gypsy Café and Juice Bar is headed for 90 Hampshire St., southeast of Inman Square and across the street from the popular beer bar Lord Hobo.

Manager Petya Todorova goes before the city’s licensing commission on Wednesday, March 28, to get approval for the cafe, which will seat 20. If approved, Gypsy Café and Juice Bar could operate seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., according to Cambridge licensing documents.

Sources for juice in the Cambridge and Somerville areas are fairly evenly distributed across the region, from newer additions like Pressed Juicery (a California import in Harvard Square) and the Juice Union in Union Square to longtime spots like Life Alive in Central Square and Mother Juice in Kendall. Now, Gypsy Café will fill a juice void in the center of Cambridge while adding another cafe element to the neighborhood. A couple blocks away at the corner of Hampshire and Columbia streets, Cafe Kiraz used to caffeinate the area, but it recently converted to a cafe called the Taste before closing around summer 2017.

While few specifics are available regarding the menu of the forthcoming cafe, a basic website indicates it will serve both coffee and juice, while an Instagram page hints at an April opening. Stay tuned for further details.
