Pour one out for Tilted Kilt, the short-lived Fenway “breastaurant” that closed down in January after less than a year in business. The Scottish-themed, Hooters-like restaurant’s former space is being taken over by a popular TD Garden-area sports bar, West End Johnnie’s, which will open the so-called Fenway Johnnie’s at 96 Brookline Ave. The new restaurant is in the process of moving into the space, as Boston Restaurant Talk reports, and is working to hire staff ahead of opening.
While the restaurant still has various licenses and inspections to cross off the to-do list before opening, the spinoff is well on its way. The menu will be slightly different from that of the original West End Johnnie’s, with some similarities, a rep confirmed. Expect to see elaborate burgers, steak entrees, half-chicken dishes, and more bar fare. The drinks menu will feature beer and cocktails, and Fenway Johnnie’s has 18 draft lines to work with.
Stay tuned for an opening date for Fenway Johnnie’s — which could be just a few weeks away if the team meets its goal of opening in time for the Marathon.
We are working hard to be open for the upcoming Boston Red Sox Baseball Season and the 2018 Running of the Boston Marathon! #WhentheDustClears #PlayBall #RunBoston
