The Hot Spot in Allston (154 Harvard Ave.) — which specializes in Cantonese dishes like braised beef brisket and shrimp wonton noodle soup — is currently closed, possibly for good. The business is closed for “vacation,” per a note on the door; however, the phone number associated with the business is not accepting calls, and Yelp users have reported that the business is closed. (The most recent Yelp review is dated December 30, 2017, and there have not been any Instagram posts tagged to the location since December.)

Along with the note, the windows have been covered in brown paper.

The restaurant opened about five months ago. At the time, manager Claire Chiu told Eater that the customer base — mostly students — were loving the braised beef brisket, beef tripe, wonton soup, and congee.

Eater has not yet been able to confirm that the Hot Spot is officially closed for good; this story will be updated if more information becomes available. Be sure to hit up the tipline with any intel.
