Jamaica Plain Is Now a Hotbed of Juice Shops

Two juice shops opened in Jamaica Plain earlier this year, and now the neighborhood has become even juicier with the addition of a third: J.C. Fruit Shop & More is now open at 606 Centre St., Boston, slinging fresh juices and smoothies, with more options to come.

Owners Jay Collado and Jasmine Batista also sell produce at J.C. Fruit Shop, hence the name, and they use that same produce in their beverages.

The owners will also add some prepared food to the menu, including salads, wraps, and sandwiches. Collado reportedly took cues for J.C. Fruit Shop from his other business, Crystal Fruit a mile up the road in Jackson Square (278 Centre St., Boston), which he plans to refocus into another juice bar.

J.C. Fruit Shop joins the recently opened Carrot Flower and Juicygreens in serving Jamaica Plain juices and smoothies — and they’re all part of a larger wave of juice shops that has been engulfing the Boston area for the past few years.
