With Jamaica Plain-born taco shop Chilacates poised for expansion to other neighborhoods in the Boston area this year, a new source for Mexican cuisine is joining the scene in JP. Achilito’s Taqueria is slated to open this February at 38 Hyde Park Ave., within new construction across from the Forest Hills MBTA stop, according to Jamaica Plain News.
Achilito’s website promises small-batch menu items, including spicy salsas and dishes made with seasonal ingredients. A full menu is not yet available on the website, but the restaurant reportedly boasts a wood-fired grill. It’ll be open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
When Achilito’s Taqueria opens, it will join restaurants such as Chilacates, Casa Verde, and Acapulco Restaurant in serving the neighborhood Mexican dishes. Stay tuned for specifics on the opening date.
