Construction around MIT in Cambridge will push out a six-year-old restaurant in Kendall Square. Firebrand Saints, located at 1 Broadway on Broad Canal Way, has a month and a half left in business before it closes for good on October 15, according to the Boston Globe.
The restaurant is known for its large patio on Broadway, where it serves burgers, bar classics, and more. It will close to make way for a construction project that coincides with the MIT Kendall Square initiative. There are still events planned for the next month and a half before the closure, but as of now, no specific plans have been shared about events surrounding the final week for Firebrand Saints. The restaurant’s owner, Gary Strack, will not lose a presence in Cambridge, however: He also operates Central Kitchen and its upstairs neighbor, Brick & Mortar, one of the most essential bars in town, in Central Square.
