A new brewery south of Boston opened its doors over the weekend, offering in-house pours, crowlers to go, and food truck service. Widowmaker Brewing (220 Wood Rd.) kicked off its first day of business with a grand opening on September 23, unveiling its taproom and selection of beers.
The brewery’s founders are Ryan Lavery, Colin Foley, and Bud Lazaro, as previously reported. Lavery and Foley were both award-winning home brewers who partnered with Lazaro to launch this new brewery. Widowmaker features a 70-seat taproom, and its beer selection includes a pale ale, two kinds of stouts, a blonde ale, an IPA, and a double IPA.
Widowmaker has made arrangements to bring in food trucks to provide sustenance for visitors during taproom hours, which run Thursday from 3 to 7 p.m., Friday from 3 to 10 p.m., Saturday from 12 to 10 p.m., and Sunday from 12 to 6 p.m. Visitors can consume partial pours, full pours, and flights in the brewery, and 32-ounce crowler cans are available to go.
