Boston’s South End will soon be home to another new dining spot, and it will be under the auspices of a seasoned local restaurant group. Bar Lyon is headed for 1750 Washington St. off Massachusetts Ave., as Boston Restaurant Talk previously reported, and it’s part of the restaurant group that includes neighborhood stalwart Mistral and more, each with chef/co-owner Jamie Mammano at the helm.
Mammano’s Bar Lyon menu will include items like eggs poached in red wine and classic French dishes from the region around Lyon, as Boston Magazine reported. The wine list will feature an all-French selection, and Bar Lyon will be a humble size, with seating for around 60 people in both a bar area and dining space — significantly smaller than the other restaurants in the group.
Bar Lyon is slated to open this fall (along with a terrifying number of other restaurants). In addition to Mistral and Bar Lyon, the Colombus Hospitality Group includes Teatro, Sorellina, Mooo...., L’Andana, and Ostra, along with two hotels.
