A South Boston family of restaurants will soon add a nearby sushi sibling to its ranks. Mike Shaw of Lincoln Tavern & Restaurant and Loco Taqueria & Oyster Bar has taken over the former Salsa’s space at 118 Dorchester St. in Southie and will bring a sushi restaurant to the neighborhood, as Boston Restaurant Talk reports.
Shaw received approval from the city earlier this year, as Universal Hub noted, and the restaurant could be getting closer to opening. Though the name has not yet been shared with the community, some details are available about forthcoming spot: It will be a full-service sushi restaurant and bar, and prior filings indicate that it will span approximately 2,600 square feet of space.
Salsa’s had operated for nearly 20 years before closing down in 2015.
