A popular sports bar and restaurant near TD Garden will shift ownership from one local restaurant group to another: Hurricane O’Reilly’s (150 Canal St.) will join the Briar Group after years as part of the Glynn Hospitality Group, according to Boston Restaurant Talk.

A spokesperson for the Glynn group confirmed the sale to the Briar Group.

“The Glynns own the Sports Grille next door and are excited for the future of Hurricanes under an organization as respected as the Briar Group,” the spokesperson said.

Hurricane O’Reilly’s made a name for itself over the years hosting events and serving as a go-to sports bar near TD Garden. The venue has a stage area for live performances and multiple bars, plus private function space. In June, Hurricane O’Reilly’s added a speakeasy-style bar to its back room, serving cocktails inspired by the Caribbean, and the North East of the Border food truck has popped up in the venue’s kitchen this summer, serving tacos.

Stay tuned for details on whether changes will be made to Hurricane O’Reilly’s under the Briar Group, which also operates Anthem Kitchen + Bar, Brew, two locations of City Bar, City Table, Gather, Glass House, The Green Briar, K2 Cafe, Ned Devine’s, two locations of O’Connor’s Irish Pub, Solas, and The Harp. Glynn Hospitality operates Sports Grille, along with Brownstone, Central Wharf Co., Clery’s, Coogan’s, Dillon’s, The Black Rose, Granary Tavern, Coogan’s, and Sterling’s.
