A new tea shop in Allston officially opened last week, replacing an older tea shop at the corner of North Beacon and Cambridge streets. Teamoji now operates where Tealosophy once stood at 3 North Beacon St., and it has a logo that appropriately bears resemblance to both fruit and an emoji.
The cafe serves milk teas and flavored teas hot or iced, including ginger milk teas, which can come with assorted boba and jelly additions. There are also smoothies in various flavors like red bean, pineapple, and passion fruit. Additional desserts include shave ice snow in flavors like matcha and taro with optional toppings, egg puff cones with ice cream, and taiyaki ice cream (in a fish-shaped pancake). Teamoji is a rebranding of Tealosophy under new ownership, as the former tea shop’s owner moved to Maine, according to a post on Instagram.
Teamoji joins a handful of other shops in Allston in serving boba and assorted desserts: Hi B3ar and Next Door Cafe both serve Thai ice cream rolls, while Next Door also offers bubble tea, and C Fruit Life serves Hong Kong-style desserts. Additionally, LimeRed Tea House serves both bubble tea and ice cream-filled egg puff cones. Teamoji operates from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
