A new cafe quietly arrived in Cambridge last week, and it’s chock full of specialty coffee beverages, pastries, teas, and so much more. Intrepid Cafe opened at 150 First St. near CambridgeSide Galleria and the office of a mobile design company, called Intrepid. There are a few other restaurants on the same stretch of First Street, including Shabu Main, Helmand, Similans, and Boca Grande.
Intrepid Cafe specializes in espresso beverages, pour-over, and tapped cold brew coffee. The cafe also serves a selection of toasts and has partnered with a handful of local producers. It serves a selection of teas from Mem Tea, treats and snacks from Danish Pastry House (including danishes, croissants, brownies, and more), and bread for its toasts from Lexington’s Bread Obsession bakery.
Inside, Intrepid Cafe has marble countertops, wooden tabletops and accents, and a large mural of a street map of Cambridge and a landscape view of the Longfellow Bridge, done by Solei Arts.
The cafe officially opened to the public on August 14 and operates from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday. It is closed Sunday. Intrepid Cafe is also located just down the road from Haute Coffee, a Concord-based cafe that opened its Cambridge outpost in May of this year. Haute Coffee also serves assorted toasts and brewed-to-order coffee, among other items.
