Cambridge said goodbye to a decades-old bowling alley, arcade, and restaurant this weekend as Lanes & Games closed down near the Concord Turnpike in preparation for a new construction project that will see a residential development rise in its place.
Lanes & Games offered both candlepin and ten-pin bowling, hosting bowling leagues and various groups over the years until its final day on Sunday, August 13, according to WBUR. Aside from the bowling lanes and assorted arcade games, Lanes & Games also had a restaurant and bar where it served items like pizza, steak tips, burgers, nachos, and more, as previously reported. The business left a heartfelt message on its Facebook page, thanking customers for making the Lanes & Games community a family for so many years.
The development set to take the place of Lanes & Games will contain 320 apartment units.
