A North Shore restaurant and the newest member of the Serenitee Restaurant Group quietly opened in June and later kicked into full gear with a broad menu spanning breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Happy Belly serves everything from breakfast sandwiches to ramen, including boozy drinks with coffee and ice cream, juice cocktails, and so much more.
Happy Belly took over the space at 3 Duncan St. in Gloucester after Alchemy (also a member of the Serenitee group) closed down in January 2016. Happy Belly aims for a casual, family friendly vibe, as previously reported, and serves pastries and bread made on site. The cafe menu features coffee made with beans roasted at the restaurant along with nitro cold brew, tea, cocoa, smoothies, juices, and milkshakes. Breakfast sandwiches dominate the morning menu, served from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m., with options for customization and toppings ranging from asparagus, feta, bacon, to fried eggs.
The lunch menu includes even more sandwiches, salads, and small bites like dumplings, street corn, and tater tots, while dinner features a mixed bag of tacos, pho, ramen, mac and cheese, and chicken and waffles, among other items. Happy Belly also serves beer, wine, and cocktails, including a “booze-a-ccino” with cold brew, Frangelico, and vanilla ice cream. Happy Belly operates daily from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. and joins the Serenitee Restaurant Group’s nine other restaurants on the North Shore.
