A chain of taco restaurants with locations across the East Coast from Florida to Connecticut will push further north to open a new spot in Boston’s Fort Point neighborhood. Bartaco has signed a lease for a space at 25 Thomson Pl., according to Donna Goodison of the Boston Herald.
This will be the first Massachusetts location for the chain, though the Greater Boston area is already familiar territory for Bartaco’s parent company, Barteca, which operates two Massachusetts locations of Barcelona Wine Bar, one in Brookline and the other in Boston’s South End, per Boston Restaurant Talk.
Bartaco draws inspiration for its menu from California, Mexico, and South America, featuring a wide selection of fish, meat, and veggie tacos, plus rice bowls, poke, salads, and more. On the beverage side of things, there is a heavy focus on tequila, with dozens of varieties available, plus margaritas, beer, wine, and cocktails.
Meanwhile, under a half mile away from the proposed Bartaco spot, Lolita Cocina & Tequila Bar is opening up a new location, also full of tacos and tequila....400 feet from Papagayo, which serves, yes, tacos and tequila.
