A New Jersey-based pizzeria with locations all around the country is a step closer to opening its first restaurant in the Boston area. The fiery 1000 Degrees Neapolitan Pizza has applied for its common victualler license to operate at 45 Court St., according to Boston Restaurant Talk, and the company is hiring employees to staff the new location.
The restaurant follows the Chipotle-style fast-casual approach taken by several other pizzerias in the area, such as Blaze Pizza and Crush Pizza, where customers choose toppings from behind a counter and wait as the customized pizza is quickly cooked. The 1000 Degrees pies have thin crusts and are cooked in a brick oven for two minutes.
Aside from pizza, there are salads, bread sticks, and wings on the menu. Boston’s forthcoming restaurant will be located downtown near Government Center and will operate from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., per licensing information.
