Another Del Frisco’s Will Help Feed Boston More Steak [Updated]

Boston is about to get a little more meaty: Another Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steak House will open in the area, this time in the Prudential Center in Back Bay. With one existing location of the Double Eagle Steak House in Seaport and two locations of the affiliated Del Frisco’s Grille in Burlington and Chestnut Hill, this new restaurant will bring more of the Texas-based restaurant group’s presence to Boston, according to Boston Restaurant Talk.

While the Double Eagle Steak House restaurants focus on fine dining, the Grille locations are more casual. The former specializes in a wide selection of steaks and chops, including filet mignon and prime rib-eye, along with braised short rib and prime medallions. There are also chicken and seafood dishes, plus veggie sides, caviar starters, and shellfish platters.

Del Frisco’s will also open another Grille in Westwood, as previously reported. That location is slated to open in early 2018, with the Prudential Double Eagle following suit in the second half of 2018. That’s not the only restaurant in the works for the Prudential: local burrito chain Anna’s Taqueria is opening a branch there, as is New York-based Dig Inn, as well as the long-planned Earls Kitchen + Bar, which is based in Canada.

In addition to the Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steak House and Grille restaurants, the Del Frisco’s restaurant group includes Sullivan’s Steakhouse, which also has locations scattered around the country (but none in New England).

Update, 8/1: The company officially announced the forthcoming Back Bay Del Frisco’s today, noting in a press release that the restaurant will be on the Pru’s ground floor, where it will span over 17,000 square feet, fronting Boylston Street and connecting to both Copley Place and the Hynes Convention Center. There will be 450 seats inside, plus a 32-seat patio, and there will be a wine-filled private dining room.
