A new market and cafe from the owners of a popular Italian restaurant in Chelsea opened Monday. Although the official opening is set for this Thursday, July 27, Ciao Market is now up and running at 212 Broadway with coffee to enjoy in-house, along with gelato, pasta, and other goods available for purchase, according to Boston Magazine.
The owners of Ciao! Pizza and Pasta, Edson Coimbra and chef Marvin Posada, took over a former convenience store and turned it into a hybrid market-coffee shop that offers a selection of takeaway items but also has seating and free wifi for those who want to stay for coffee or gelato.
The market stocks sauces, olive oil, pasta, prepared salads, and sandwiches. The gelato flavors rotate, and there are doughnuts, pastries, bagels, and more. The market is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
The Ciao team also has plans to open another new concept in the neighborhood, which will be called Winnisimmet Lounge, as previously reported.
