An Italian restaurant in Salem that had only been open for about a year is now closed. Trattoria Orsini will be replaced by another Italian restaurant, Antique Table, which has two existing locations in Winthrop and Lynn, according to Boston Restaurant Talk. Prior to Trattoria Orsini, 26 Congress St. was the longtime home of a Mediterranean restaurant and wine bar called Grapevine.

Trattoria Orsini served a modern Italian menu that included salads, grilled octopus, and seafood, along with items like fried veal chop and pork tenderloin, as previously reported. There were also Italian wines, classic cocktails, and beer, and the space featured a pleasant waterside patio.

Antique Table also specializes in Italian cuisine and shared a post about the forthcoming addition to its ranks on its Facebook page:

We will continue to offer a lineup of Italian specialties, fresh pasta and favorites from the whole of Italy, including our authentic Italian pizza, fettuccine, linguini, and hand rolled gnocchi. We are excited ... and we look forward to having you there, whether you choose to dine in at the bar, or in our main dining room, or even outside by the water, you will not be disappointed.

Antique Table could open in early September and will honor gift cards purchased at Trattoria Orsini within the past six months.
