A meatball-centric restaurant that’s been in the works for over two years is finally close to opening its doors in South Boston. Certified Meatball Company, a member of the Boston Nightlife Ventures family, is finally just a few weeks away from opening at 429 West Broadway.
The restaurant will focus on "globally inspired meatballs," as previously reported. Previous editions of the menu have included balls made with turkey, beef, spicy Korean pork, turkey, and veggie, plus "bao balls," likely served on steamed buns. There were also hints of salads, pasta dishes, and specialty meatball sandwiches.
Word of Certified Meatball Company first surfaced early in 2015, when the group aimed to open in Somerville’s Davis Square. The West Broadway space was later secured and has been under construction for some time. The restaurant is now hiring employees and is slated to open on August 4, per a post on Craigslist.
Other members of the Boston Nightlife Ventures family include The Tap Trailhouse, Griddler's Burgers + Dogs, Southern Kin, Wink & Nod, and the forthcoming Akinto and Little Owl Tavern, the latter of which is still under development.
