A popular food and wine shop in Somerville that has a loyal following thanks in part to its cooking classes and hearty sandwiches — not to mention its fresh pasta — has welcomed a new sibling in Medford. Semolina Kitchen and Bar is softly open as of July 20 (see update below), joining Dave’s Fresh Pasta in feeding the neighborhoods north of Boston. The team has previously provided some insight into the menu on social media.
When fully open, Semolina Kitchen & Bar will offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and the restaurant’s Instagram feed shows an array of items, including pizza, cinnamon rolls, and black pepper salmon with Iggy’s bagels and eggs. The restaurant has a full liquor license and cocktails.
Semolina is self-described as “Dave's Fresh Pasta in restaurant/bar form,” plus coffee and a market, with items available for takeout, as previously reported. The restaurant has been under construction at 572 Boston Ave. for several months. An employee reached at Dave’s Fresh Pasta Thursday, July 13 told Eater there had been no set opening date for Semolina, but that it would be soon. (See update below.)
Update, 7/20, 8:30 a.m.: This story has been updated to reflect that Semolina Kitchen and Bar is softly open. Right now, the restaurant is serving breakfast and remains open until 12 p.m.
