A cafe in Wellesley closes down later this week. Susu Bakery & Cafe’s last day in business will be Saturday, according to the Swellesley Report, and owner Suzanne Aylward will put everything in the cafe — including furniture, arts, and kitchen equipment — up for sale.

The 575 Washington St. bakery has been around since 2000, serving a wide selection of baked goods and cakes and regularly featuring live music. Most recently, Susu Cafe partnered with the French restaurant La Voile to bring a special menu to the cafe on weekends, as previously reported. A letter from Aylward published in the Swellesley Report reflected on the cafe’s 17 years in business and informed customers of the closing details.

“We’ve had some wonderful times and were fortunate to work alongside some great, talented cooks and bakers and formed life long friendships through this shop,” the note reads. Susu Cafe will close down at the end of service on July 15.
